Square Announces Bitcoin Payment Support
This could shape up into the biggest Bitcoin Commerce story of the year. Payments giant Square, with devices in-use at over 4,000,000 businesses has announced support for bitcoin payments!
According to their publication, the goal is for a rollout the second half of 2025 and reach all Square businesses in 2026.
Payments will make use of the Lightning Network, allowing for instant, low-cost settlement compared to traditional payments.
We really think this move could have a big impact on Bitcoin adoption. According to a recent study in the UK, small and entrepreneurial businesses were 16x times more likely than others to accept Bitcoin payments - and that is exactly Square’s target audience.
Put all that together and we have a recipe for large scale adoption of bitcoin payments!

Steak n’ Shake Reports Bitcoin Payment Success
Steak n’ Shake shared some encouraging results from integrating Bitcoin payments in their restaurants.

New York City Mayor Pushes to End BitLicense
A USA court has forced Apple to open IOS apps up to third party payments. Up till now, Apple’s policies have prevented IOS apps from allowing users to pay for things like app upgrades with bitcoin.
This will likely open up a whole suite of benefits to IOS users, business and developers! We’re curious to see what cool apps add bitcoin payments now that it is possible.

The Bitcoin Conference Sets a Guinness Book Record for Bitcoin Payments
The Bitcoin Conference in Las Vegas just set a Guinness Book Record for most bitcoin point of sale payments in an 8-hour period!
On May 28, the conference recorded a record-breaking 4,187 bitcoin payments!

California Car Dealer Accepts Bitcoin Payments
If you’re in Cali looking for an Audi, BMW or Porsche you are going to want to look this dealership up.
The Fresno car dealership, owned by former MLB pitcher C.J. Wilson will take Bitcoin payments!
According to the article, they don’t see too much volume in bitcoin payments, but have sold a Lambo for BTC, completing the “Wen Lambo” meme circle.
