Revolution in Bitcoin Commerce: Stablecoins Now Available on Lightning Network ⚡
USDT stablecoin payments are now possible on the Lightning Network. This means that senders can pay with bitcoin and receivers can receive wrapped USDT and vice versa on the Lightning Network!
Speed Wallet is the first out the gate, using the new Taproot Assets protocol by Lightning Labs to make stablecoin payments possible on Bitcoin Layer 2. We tried it ourselves and it worked flawlessly.
For bitcoin commerce, the implications could be huge. We’ve been covering bitcoin commerce around the world for long enough to know that the demand for stablecoins seems unquenchable.
Many businesses, including businesses like ours, that are die hard supporters of accepting bitcoin payments, have felt the sting of bitcoins volatility versus fiat currencies or gold.
Globally, stablecoins are enormously popular. Check out this chart from Chain Analysis spanning Latin America.
Opening this market up to better, more decentralized technologies like the Bitcoin Lightning Network could have a big impact on businesses around the world.
In fact, this may have a large impact on Bitcoin adoption, as the new protocol allows for seamless conversion between BTC and assets like stablecoins, all powered by a new type of Lightning node called an “edge node”.
There’s no doubt that this is a story to watch in Bitcoin Commerce. Find out lots more here.

BTCPay Server releases guide for in-person bitcoin payments at events
Looking to set up a conference or an event with in-person bitcoin payments? BTCPay Server has you covered.
In fact, the exact same combination of tech can be used to power bitcoin payments for in-person retail businesses.
We’ve experienced this ourselves both at events and setting up POS systems and can vouch for the effectiveness of the guide.
There are some key components to getting this setup, in our experience:
BTCPay Server - a free and open source payment processor
The “Bitcoinize” machine - an easy-to-use point-of-sale device
A Lightning Service Provider - to make accepting Lightning payments easy
We hope you check out the guide and get inspired. Reach out to us too if we can ever assist.

Ferrari’s bitcoin payments are expanding into Europe
Great news for Europeans during the next bull run. Ferrari’s USA bitcoin payments program has been a success and the company is now expanding the offering to Europe.
The USA integration was done with BitPay, however, according to DeutscheWelle, it’s not clear if BitPay is also integrating bitcoin payments in Europe.
Maybe Lamborghini will join in next and capitalize on their iconic bull logo, not letting Ferrari’s horse take all the glory : )
